Egbewole greets Sobi FM on 9th anniversary
…hails Oparinde’s appointment as GM

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof.Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has rejoiced with the proprietor, management and staff of Sobi 101.9 FM, Ilorin, as the broadcast outfit marks the ninth anniversary of its establishment.
Prof. Egbewole, in a statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, described Sobi FM as an outstanding media platform that has been very supportive of the University, particularly since his assumption of office in 2022.
The Vice Chancellor noted that the station has distinguished itself in the realm of information dissemination, entertainment provision and other forms of enlightenment that have positively impacted its listeners across the world.
Prof. Egbewole specifically commended the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Station, who is also an alumnus of the University, Dr Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha, for establishing the station and ensuring that it remains among the most-listened-to over the last nine years.
The Vice Chancellor also commended the management of the station on the appointment of a consumate broadcaster, Mr Oluwafemi Oparinde, as the new General Manager of the highflying radio station. He described the appointment as a round peg in a round hole and a veritable reward for professional excellence.
Prof. Egbewole wished the station more years of quality and rewarding services to the nation and humanity at large.
