Egbewole attends MKU’s proprietor’s fidau

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, last Tuesday (June 2, 2026) attended the fidau programme organised for the repose of the soul of the late Khalifatul-Adabiyyin and proprietor of Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University (MKU), Ilorin, Shaykh Abdulkadir Muhammad Kamaluddeen Al-Adabiy.

The event, which took place at the Ilorin residence of the deceased, was organised by the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria.

Also in attendance were the Talba of Ilorin and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Shuaibu Oba AbdulRaheem, OFR; a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. AbdulRasheed Na’Allah; the Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Folorunso Oladimeji; and the Vice Chancellor of the Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University, Ilorin, Prof. Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh.

Others who attended the ceremony included the Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla; and a former Head of the Department of Religions, University of Ilorin, Prof. Abubakir Imam Ali-Agan, among several other dignitaries.

The late Shaykh Kamaluddeen, who was described as an outstanding and unifying cleric, died penultimate Friday (May 29, 2026) after a brief illness at the age of 82. He was survived by a widow, many children and relations including Mrs Sherifat Ajibola Kamaldeen, a staff of the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin.
