CVCNU condoles with Egbewole over Ambali’s demise

The Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (CVCNU), has expressed its profound sadness on the recent death of the ninth Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON.
In a condolence letter dated June 15, 2026 adressed to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, the CVCNU stated that it was with profound sadness that it received the news of the death of the former Vice Chancellor.
The Secretary-General of the CVCNU, Prof. Andrew Haruna, who signed the letter, also sympathised with the “friends, associates of the late Prof. Ambali and all those affected by this great loss”.
He added that “in a moment like this, words are inadequate to capture and express the magnitude of our grief and loss, but we take solace in the fact that Professor Ambali lived a good, fruitful and fulfilled life”, recalling that the late former Vice Chancellor made valuable contributions and worked with several staff members of the University to improve the institution, which culminated in its emergence as a “University of Choice.”
The CVCNU prayed that God Almighty should forgive the shortcomings of the late former Vice Chancellor and grant his soul eternal rest in paradise.
