Be careful with fraudsters, UNILORIN warns admission seekers

The Admission Officer of the University of Ilorin, Mr Abdulkareem Kunle Sanni, has warned candidates who applied for admissions into the University and their parents, guardians and other stakeholders to be careful in order not to fall prey to fraudsters.
Mr Sanni, who is a Principal Assistant Registrar, stated this last Tuesday (August 18, 2026) while featuring on ‘Table Talk’, a current affairs programme of UNILORIN 89.3 FM. The programme was anchored by Mr Abdulkadir Yinka Saliu (Magaji Nda).
The Admission Officer, who spoke extensively on preparations for the just concluded Post-UTME screening test, affirmed that admission into the University is a highly organised and automated process as he explained that no one would be asked to pay before being offered admission for any course of study.
Mr Sanni explained that admissions would be granted to only those who are qualified based on the aggregation of their performances at Ordinary Level, UTME and Post-UTME.
He similarly enjoined parents, candidates and other stakeholders to disregard any unauthorised information as he said that any information that is not disseminated on the University website and official communication channels should be ignored.
Mr Sanni, however, urged those who are not clear with any information or issue to feel free to engage his office on such matters as he assured that adequate responses would be made available.
In addition, Mr Sanni, who described members of staff of the Unit as being among the best that the University of Ilorin is blessed with, said that the Admissions Office would remain open for physical interactions with admission seekers between 8:00a.m. and 3:30p.m. every working day of the week.
He thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, for providing the Admissions Office with enabling environment needed to enhance service delivery.
He also assured stakeholders that he and his colleagues in the office would remain ready to offer their best.
