Ameen, ex-CREDIT Deputy Director, emerges KWARA CSN Chairman

A former Deputy Director of the Centre for Research, Development and In-House Training (CREDIT), Prof. Mubarak Oloduowo Ameen, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Kwara State Chapter of the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).
CSN is a body that consists of interested chemists, educators, students, and industry professionals while membership of the Kwara State Chapter of the Society is drawn from Kwara and part of Oyo States (especially Ogbomoso and Oyo towns).
The election of Prof. Ameen was one of the highlights of the meeting of the CSN held penultimate Thursday (April 2, 2026) at the Board Room of the Department of Chemistry, University of Ilorin.
Other Unilorites elected along with Prof. Ameen are Prof. Olubunmi Atolani of the Department of Chemistry, Vice Chairman (Academic); Dr Haleemat Funmilayo Babamale of the Department of Industrial Chemistry, who was elected as the Public Relations Officer; Dr Abdullahi Rajee, Treasurer and Dr Ibrahim Kuranga Ayinla of the Department of Industrial Chemistry, Assistant Secretary.
Also elected are Prof. Muibat Olabisi Bello of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso,
Secretary; Dr. Akeem Adebayo Jimoh of Kwara State University, Malete, Financial Secretary; and Dr Christianah Oluwakemi Adeyemi of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Membership Secretary.
Prof. Ameen and other members of the new Executive Council of the Kwara CSN would be formally inaugurated soon.
