Alfanla praises UNILORIN Man O’ War Command

The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, has commended the Man O’ War Cadet Command of the University for its selfless services to the University community.
The Registrar stated this penultimate Thursday (June 25, 2026) while receiving a delegation, which was led by its Coordinator-In-Chief, ASM Yussuf Adebayo, in his office.
While expressing his continuous support, the Registrar emphasised his readiness to collaborate closely with the Command towards helping it to achieve its operational goals.
Highlighting the Command’s remarkable contributions, the Registrar recognised its significant roles in creating a positive impact within the University and the society as a whole. He particularly commended the Command for their vital support in maintaining orderliness during the University’s annual convocation ceremonies.
He advised the Command to always exercise civility when addressing disciplinary issues, and encouraged members to prioritise their academic pursuits, noting that academic success validates their membership.
Mr Alfanla further assured the Command that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, in his capacity as the Grand Commandant of the Unit, would continue to support their initiatives.
Responding, the leader of the delegation, ASM Adebayo, reassured the Registrar of their determination to make the campus a safe and more secure environment for everyone.
Highlight of the visit included the presentation of a souvenir to the Registrar in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Man O’ War Nigeria.
Other members of the delegation included the Director of General Protocol, Inspector Ayotunde Adewumi; the Officer-in-Charge, Assistant Inspector Mahmud Muhammed; and the Aide-de-Camp 1, Assistant, Inspector Abdulbasit Ayinla.
