AIPHP honours Oniyangi with Fellowship award

The African Institute of Public Health Professionals (AIPHP) has conferred its Fellowship award on a Professor of Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education at the University of Ilorin, Shuaib Olanrewaju Oniyangi, in recognition of his dedication, commitment and outstanding contributions to the development of the Association and the Health Education profession.
Prof. Oniyangi received the honour during the Institute’s Public Health Professionals induction ceremony recently held at Monarchs Luxury Palace Event Centre, Ilorin.
According to the Institute, the Fellowship award recognises Prof. Oniyangi’s exceptional service to the Association as well as his remarkable achievements in Health Education, higher education administration, mentorship and his unwavering commitment to advancing education and professional development in Nigeria and beyond.
Speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin shortly after receiving the award, Prof. Oniyangi attributed the recognition to the grace of God, saying the achievement was not by his own power.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of AIPHP for the honour, describing it as a motivation to continue contributing to the growth and development of the Association and the Health Education profession.
The Professor also urged members of the Institute to remain committed to the Association by actively participating in its programmes and initiatives.
He noted that sustained collaboration and collective efforts would enable AIPHP to achieve greater milestones in promoting public health education and professional excellence.
The induction ceremony attracted health educators, academics, researchers and public health professionals from universities and other institutions across the country who used the forum to exchange ideas and deliberate on issues affecting Health Education and national development.
