Adeoye, Olademo bag NAL Fellowships

The Director of Academic Planning (DAP), University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRasheed Abiodun Adeoye, and a former Director of the University’s Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies (CPSS), Prof. Oyeronke Olademo, have bagged the prestigious Fellowship of the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL).
The investiture of Prof. Adeoye and Prof. Olademo, who are also former Deans of the Faculty of Arts, was performed last Thursday (August 13, 2026) by the President of NAL, Prof. Andrew Haruna, during the 28th induction ceremony of the Academy, held at the University of Lagos.
With their investiture, the two UNILORIN dons have joined the league of eminent alumni and scholars, including a former Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Emeritus Is’haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, who are Fellows of the Academy.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the investiture of the two scholars.
In a statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the duo as seasoned scholars who have contributed meaningfully to the advancement of knowledge and human progress.
Prof. Egbewole encouraged other alumni, staff members and students of the University to emulate the two scholars’ intellectual versatility and patriotism for them to also enjoy career progression.
The Vice Chancellor wished the new NAL Fellows more successful and rewarding career.
