Adeboye elected CoHS’s Provost

The Head of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, University of Ilorin, Prof. Muhammed A.N. Adeboye, has been elected the new Provost of the institution’s College of Health Sciences.
Prof. Adeboye, who polled 76 votes, defeated his opponent, Prof. Adeoye of the Department of Surgery, who secured 74 votes, while two votes were declared invalid.
The don, who will succeed Prof. B. S. Alabi, whose tenure comes to an end on July 31, 2026, has made significant contributions to medical education, child healthcare, and research.
Over the years, he has earned recognition for his commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and the advancement of healthcare delivery. His research interests, particularly in child health and public health, have attracted national and international recognition.
