Yahya makes NUAP’s TWG

The Director of the Advancement Centre, University of Ilorin, Prof. Waheed Babatunde Yahya, has been appointed Member of the Technical Working Group(TWG) on National University Advancement Program (NUAP).
Prof. Yahya, who teaches at the Department of Statistics, University of Ilorin, is representing all the universities operating in the North-Central region on the Committee.
The appointment of Prof. Yahya and others was the highlight of the launch of the National University Programme by the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa in Lagos last Monday (January 26, 2026).
While the Executive Director of the Nigeria Higher Education Foundation (NHEF), Dr Claire Jemide, emerged as the Chairman, other members are Dr Adetola Salau, who is representing the Minister of Education, and Dr Kareem, Department of University Education. Also on the Committee are the Director of Advancement Offices of the University of Lagos and the University of Ibadan, who are representing the South West; the Director of the University Advancement of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (North West) and his counterparts from the University of Maiduguri (North East), University of Port Harcourt (South South) and the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (South East).
Also on the Committee are Mr Adonye Wilcos of African Finance Corporation (AFC) and the Chairman of the Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities, Prof. Lawrence Ikechukwu Ezemonye.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Education, Dr Alausa, urged universities to make effective use of their Advancement Centres for them to achieve the essence of their establishment.
The event, which brought together Vice Chancellors and Directors responsible for advancement-related functions across federal universities, deliberated on practical and actionable frameworks for alumni engagement, endowment management and transparent reporting systems and provision of structured operational guidance for the establishment and strengthening of Advancement Offices across Nigerian universities.
