Abdulkareem, UNILORIN LIS don, passes on

The death has been announced of a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Library and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, Dr Mulikat Yetunde Abdulkareem.

Dr Abdulkareem, who died last Wednesday (November 12, 2025) after a brief illness, was aged 57.

The remains of the deceased have since been buried in accordance with Muslim rites.

Reacting, the Head of the Department, Dr Musediq Tunji Bashorun, described Dr Abdulkareem as a quiet and diligent academic.

Dr Bashorun explained that Abdulkareem, who joined the services of the University in 2008, would be sorely missed by staff and students of the Department.

He prayed to Allah to forgive her shortcomings and reward her good deeds with Aljanat Fridaous.

Dr Abdulkareem was survived by her aged father and three children.
