UNILORIN SSANU loses ex-scribe
….. National President, Falowo mourn her demise

The death has been announced of a former Secretary of the University Ilorin Branch of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Dr Wosilat Bimpe Ojulari.
Dr Ojulari, who was a senior nursing staff at the University Health Services, died last Friday (September 18, 2026) at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Ilorin, where she was receiving treatment.
Her remains had been committed to mother earth in Ilorin in accordance with Muslim rites at Oke-Oyi Cemetery after a Janazah prayer, led by the Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Nasir AbdulSalam
Among those who attended the Janazah were the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN; the Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla and many members of the University Community including Members of the Governing Council of the University and the National President of SSANU, Mr Mohammed Haruna Ibrahim.
In a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin shortly after joining members of the University community to observe the Janazah on the remains of the deceased, Mr Ibrahim said that the late Dr Ojulari made significant contributions to the Union.
He recalled that she served the Union in various capacities, including Acting Chairman, Acting Secretary and Secretary for two terms as well as Women Leader in the Zone.
The SSANU National President said that the late Dr Ojulari would be sorely missed for conducting herself as a true comrade and a good mother to many young and aspiring comrades.
While describing death as an inevitable end that could not be questioned, the SSANU National President advised members to prioritise their health by undergoing regular health checks, exercising regularly and maintaining healthy lifestyles.
He stated that while sickness and other challenges were part of human existence, members could take measures to reduce the risk of untimely health-related setbacks.
Mr Ibrahim noted that the demands of office work often left workers with little time for physical exercise, as many spent long hours at work and returned home fatigued and exhausted.
He, therefore, urged members to exercise regularly, eat healthy meals and maintain good hygiene at home and in the workplace. He also advised members to avoid lifestyles that could expose them to health risks, particularly heavy drinking and smoking.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the UNILORIN Branch of SSANU, Mr Naheem Olusola Falowo, described Dr Ojulari as a hard-working and dedicated professional who contributed to the greatness of the University throughout her career at the University.
Mr Falowo sympathised with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN and the Director of the University Health Services, Dr Rasheed Odunola as well as with the Ojulari family and the entire people of Oke-Ode community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State as well as all the colleagues and friends of the deceased.
The SSANU Chairman, while urging the bereaved to take consolation in the fact that the deceased lived a life worthy of emulation, prayed to Allah to comfort them at this trying period and beyond and grant the gentle soul of Dr Ojulari eternal rest.
