The Chairman of the University of Ilorin Admissions Committee, Prof. AbdulAzeez Muhammad-Lawal, has assured stakeholders, particularly candidates, and their parents and guardians, that admissions into various programmes at the University will
be conducted with utmost fairness and sense of probity.
Prof. Muhammad-Lawal gave this assurance last Wednesday (September 10, 2025) in a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin in his office.
The Chairman explained that qualified candidate who applied for admission into the University would be considered based on the established yardsticks.
Prof. Muhammad-Lawal warned candidates and their parents not to bribe any one as he said that admission into the University is not for sale but for those who possess the required qualifications.
He added that candidates need not know anyone before being given the privilege to study in the University as he said that all that would be prioritised is their academic performance.
Prof. Muhammad-Lawal pointed out that merit, more than any other factor(s), would be given greater consideration as he said that candidates who obtained high scores/grades in the UTME/A’Level, and Post-UTME screening, and possess good grades in five relevant O’Level subjects would be given greater consideration before other yardsticks are put into consideration.
Prof. Muhammad-Lawal said that his committee is working round the clock to ensure that the admission process is smooth and efficient as charged by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN. The Chairman, therefore, enjoined candidates to constantly check their JAMB CAPS for necessary information regarding their admissions status.
