We are proud of you, alma mater tells Omopupa

The Government High School, Ilorin Old Students Association has commended the University Librarian, University of Ilorin, Prof. Kamaldeen Tunde Omopupa, for always making the school very proud.
The National President of the Association, Mr Ahmed Ishola, gave the commendation last Tuesday (January 13, 2025) when he led a delegation of the Association on a working visit to the University Librarian in his office.
Mr Ishola said that the Association has been following the career of Prof. Omopupa before and since his emergence as the 9th UNILORIN Chief Library Officer, saying that they have always been very pleased with his performance.
The President thanked Prof. Omopupa for being a good role-model to alumni of the school as well as his colleagues and the society at large.
He enjoined Prof. Omopupa to continue to support the school for it to produce more distinguished alumni in the mould of the University Librarian.
Responding, Prof. Omopupa thanked the Association for the visit, which he said was most unexpected.
Prof. Omopupa, who is the Chairman of the 1987 set of the 60 year-old school, said the visit was the first he would receive in 2026, pointing out that it portends a good omen of a fulfilling year for him and the University Library and the enitire University community.
While the University Librarian donated 20 copies of relevant texts in Mathematics and Science subjects to the school, Prof. Omopupa promised to offer assistance on the request tabled before him based on his capacity.
On the President’s entourage were Mrs Toyin Ajayi and Mr Musiliu Lawal while Prof. Omopupa was joined in receiving the visitors by Dr Titilola Abdussalam and Mrs G. B. Olaniyan.
