VC projects brighter prospects for 2026 in New Year Message

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has expressed strong confidence that the year 2026 will bring greater progress, more productivity, and prosperity to the University community and Nigerians in general.
In a New Year video message shared with staff and students last Thursday (January 1, 2026), the Vice Chancellor thanked God for the gift of life and the opportunity to witness 2025 and 2026 in good health. He described 2025 as a “golden year” during which the institution positioned itself strategically in preparation for its centenary celebrations.
He assured students of continued priority attention to their welfare, interests, and opportunities for advancement, stressing that management remains committed to creating an enabling environment for academic and personal development.
Expressing optimism that the New Year would resolve lingering challenges from the past year while strengthening the University’s values and achievements, Prof. Egbewole reaffirmed the management’s commitment to creating opportunities, and supporting staff across academic and non-teaching cadres to achieve their goals.
While wishing all a “happy and prosperous 2026,” the Vice Chancellor urged the entire University community to look forward to a year of collective advancement and renewed success.
