The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has admonished couples to develop and always exhibit unconditional love for one another.

Prof. Egbewole gave this admonition penultimate Saturday (December 28, 2024) in his remarks at the wedding reception of Kareema, a daughter of the immediate past Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), University of Ilorin Chapter, Prof. Salihu Moyosore Ajao, and her heartthrob, Lukman. The event was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the University.

The Vice Chancellor said that most marriages fail nowadays due to the absence of genuine and unconditional love between husbands and their wives.

Prof. Egbewole stated that couples must always love one another for their marriages to endure the test of time.

Addressing the new couple, the distinguished legal luminary urged them to make Allah the cornerstone of their relationship.

Prof. Egbewole, who is also the Secretary General of the Association of West African Universities (AWAU), equally appealed to the new couple to always relate with each other in absolute consciousness of the omnipresence of Allah as he also encouraged them to always try as much as possible to understand each other.

While congratulating the couple for witnessing a great day in their lives, the Vice Chancellor also felicitated the parents, families, colleagues and friends of the couple for witnessing the solemnisation of the conjugal relationship of their son and daughter.

Prof. Egbewole, who prayed Allah to grant the new couple long life, sound health and happiness, wished them a very peaceful and rewarding marital life.

Speaking on the sidelines of the ceremony, the bride’s father, Prof. Ajao thanked Allah for preserving his life to witness the ceremony.
