The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has extolled the members of staff of the institution for their exceptional support towards the success of the just-concluded  50th Anniversary of the University.

In a message sent to members of the University community last Friday (November 28, 2025), Prof. Egbewole described the collective effort demonstrated by staff as “uncommon support” that played a pivotal role in the resounding success of the golden jubilee activities. He acknowledged the various forms of contributions received, ranging from donations to the commitment of time, passion, and active participation in all scheduled events.

The Vice Chancellor noted that the remarkable achievements recorded during the week-long celebration would not have been possible without the dedication and collaborative spirit of the University workforce.

He, however, assured staff members that his administration remains committed to giving its best to advance the institution while prioritising the welfare of all employees.

In the same vein, the Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Committee, Prof. Olugbenga A. Mokuolu, expressed gratitude to the entire University community for their roles in the resounding success of the celebration, describing the week-long series of events as a grand carnival of excellence.

Prof. Mokuolu said the impressive turnout, dedication, and unity demonstrated by staff, students, alumni, and partners were the true drivers of the celebration’s overwhelming success.

The Chairman extended special recognition to the institution’s Ilorin Emirate Staff Association, the Alumni body, student leaders, Unions and Associations, the Technical Entrepreneurship Centre, Unilorin Holdings, and several other collaborators for their invaluable contributions.

While appreciating members of the 50th Anniversary Committee and their families for their sacrifices and dedication, Prof. Mokuolu recounted instances of family members giving full support to committee members, underscoring the deep commitment that powered the success of the celebration.

Prof. Mokuolu commended the Vice Chancellor and Principal Officers for their visionary leadership and constant engagement with the Committee, saying that their steady guidance, encouragement, and commitment provided the foundation for the successful execution of the anniversary plans.

He also praised members of the University’s Governing Council for their unprecedented involvement, noting that their presence and participation from the beginning to the end strengthened the bond between the Council and the University community.
