
Accreditation team lauds UNILORIN Architecture Department

A 200 Level student of the Department of Mathematics, University of Ilorin, Mr Abdulsamad Olaitan Yusuf, has won a cash prize of ₦2,000,000 and award plaque for emerging as a runner up at a competition jointly organised by the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Federal Ministry of Communication Innovation and Digital Economy on Cyber Security (FMCIDE),which took place in Abuja last month.
This is contained in a notification letter signed by the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Prof. A. S. Idowu, and addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN , a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Monday (August 11, 2025).
Meanwhile, the Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, has congratulated Mr Yusuf on his outstanding performance at the national contest.
In a memo addressed to Mr Yusuf, the Registrar lauded the student’s diligence, hard work, and innovative spirit, noting that such achievements align with the institution’s vision of producing globally competitive graduates.
“You have not only brought pride to yourself but also honour to your department and the entire University.The University Management encourages you to continue to pursue excellence and serve as a worthy ambassador of the University”, Mr Alfanla said.
On his part, the Head of the Department of Mathematics, Prof. Idowu, commended the student’s efforts as he said that the Department would continue to be proud of him.
