The University of Ilorin has once again demonstrated its academic strength as students from the Departments of Geology and Geophysics shone brightly at the 12th Mini-Conference for Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, which was jointly organised by the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) and the Nigerian Mining and Geo-Sciences Society (NMGS).

               The event, which brought together students from over 30 universities across the country, was held at the Kwara State University, Malete, from August 28 to 30, 2025.

UNILORIN’s Geology team emerged champions in the highly competitive quiz contest, securing the first position and receiving a trophy along with a cheque of ₦300,000.
