UNILORIN student wins Moremi beauty, culture pageant at Ijakadi Festival

A 300 level Biology Education student of the University of Ilorin, Hikmat Oyinkansola Tiamiyu, has emerged winner of the Moremi Beauty and Culture Pageant at the Ijakadi Festival 2025, held in Offa, Kwara State.
Miss Hikmat clinched the coveted crown after edging out 11 other contestants in a keenly contested event that combined beauty, intellect, confidence, and deep appreciation of Yoruba cultural values.
Her victory was widely celebrated as a reflection of the elegance, intelligence, and cultural consciousness of young women from Offa and beyond.
The Moremi pageant, a key highlight of the annual Ijakadi Festival, is designed to promote indigenous heritage, celebrate womanhood, and inspire youth participation in cultural preservation.
The Ijakadi Festival 2025 once again lived up to its reputation as a vibrant cultural showcase, attracting traditional leaders, youths, creative artists, and cultural enthusiasts, while reinforcing Offa’s place as a custodian of Yoruba history and identity.
Highlights of the festival included procession led with grandeur by the Aare Bobajiroro of Offa Land, Chief Musbau, who drew admiration as he rode on horseback; adorned in full traditional regalia, which symbolised strength, dignity, and continuity of Offa’s rich cultural heritage.
