UNILORIN reconstitutes committee to revitalise courseware programmes

As part of efforts to enhance teaching, learning, and digital content delivery across the institution, the University of Ilorin has reconstituted the Committee on Courseware to revitalise its courseware programmes.

The approval was granted by the Vice Chancellor. Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, through an internal memorandum by the University Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Tuesday (March 24, 2026).

The memorandum stated that the reconstituted committee is expected to strengthen the adoption and effectiveness of courseware in the University.

According to the memorandum, Prof.  Abdulwahab Olanrewaju Issa of the Department of Library and Information Science would serve as its Chairman, while Prof. L. O. Aina would be the Consultant.

Other members of the committee include Prof. Nafisat A. Adedokun-Shittu, Prof. Christiana O. Abikoye, Dr A. O. Odutayo, Dr Rafiat A. Oyekunle, Dr Aderinola O. Dunmade, Engr  M. A. Lawal, Dr F. O. Jimoh, and R. M. Abdullahi, while V. I. Obalola would serve as the Secretary.

The committee has been mandated to train trainers on the adoption of courseware programmes, as well as provide capacity-building for lecturers and instructors on the necessary skills and competencies required for effective courseware development and utilisation.

It is also expected to recommend strategies that will ensure the sustainability and efficiency of the courseware initiative, alongside offering additional suggestions that could assist the University in developing a robust and functional courseware system.

The memorandum further stated that the committee will submit periodic reports to the Vice Chancellor to track progress and implementation.

The Registrar congratulated members of the committee on their appointments and expressed confidence in their ability to deliver on the assignment.
