UNILORIN NUJ appreciates members’ cooperation

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), University of Ilorin Chapel, Mr Tijani Adewoyin, has expressed gratitude to members of the Chapel for their unwavering support and solidarity during the Executive Committee’s first year in office.

Mr Adewoyin gave the commendation last Tuesday (January 27, 2026) while speaking at a meeting of the Chapel held at the Conference Room of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs.

While reflecting on the Exco’s first year in Office, the Chairman highlighted key milestones and achievements recorded, attributing the successes to the collective efforts, dedication, and cooperation of members.

He noted that despite the challenges encountered during the year, the Executive Council of the Chapel was able to navigate successfully, expressing appreciation for the trust and confidence reposed in the leadership by members of the Chapel.

Mr Adewoyin also commended the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN; the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla; the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun; the General Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr Ibrahim Akintola Idris (Alooma); and other stakeholders for their support and contributions to the success of his administration.

Looking ahead to the second year, the Chairman outlined plans to prioritise members’ welfare, strengthening of unity and professionalism, and promotion of high standards of journalism practice within the Directorate.

He appealed for continued support, prayers, and active participation from members.

Mr Adewoyin reaffirmed the commitment of the executive to serve the best interests of the Chapel and prayed for sustained growth, progress, and excellence for the UNILORIN NUJ Chapel.
