The Class of 2025 of the National Association of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students (NAEEES), Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, has donated a 14-seater cubicle desk and six chairs to the Departmental Library as part of its commitment to giving back to their alma mater.

Receiving the donation last Wednesday (September 24, 2025), on behalf of the Department, the Ag. Head, Dr O. Ibrahim, who was represented by Prof. A. R. Zubair and Dr A. O. Otuoze, commended the students for their generosity, describing the gesture as one worthy of emulation by other sets.

Dr Ibrahim also complemented the initiative by donating several e-books to the Library, noting that such contributions would further enrich the Department’s academic resources.

He disclosed that the project was jointly championed by the Departmental President, Comrade Sulaimon Muhammed, and the 500 Level Class Representative, Sufiyan Ozovehe Mamman.

“With this gesture, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is better equipped to provide a more conducive academic environment,” Dr Ibrahim remarked.

In his earlier remarks, Comrade Muhammed expressed appreciation to his colleagues for their sacrifices and encouraged younger students to sustain the culture of giving back.

He stressed that such initiatives would not only benefit present learners but also enhance the Department’s academic reputation in the years ahead.

He further expressed the class’s hope that their legacy would inspire future cohorts to embark on similar developmental projects.

The event was witnessed by NAEEES executives, final year students, and their junior colleagues, among others.
