UNILORIN, NACOE’s bond rooted in mutual respect – Egbewole

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has reaffirmed the strong institutional bond between the University and the Nigeria Army College of Education (NACOE), Sobi Barracks, Ilorin, describing the bond as one rooted in mutual respect and shared goals.

               Prof. Egbewole stated this penultimate Wednesday (May 28, 2025) while receiving the newly deployed Provost of NACOE, Brigadier-General Emmanuel Chidi Echebiwe, who was on a familiarisation visit to the University.

               The Vice Chancellor said that the University of Ilorin is committed to supporting NACOE’s academic advancement and is open to exploring fresh opportunities for collaboration in the interest of national development.

               While highlighting the importance of sustained engagement between the two institutions, particularly in areas of staff development, curriculum support, and quality assurance, Prof. Egbewole assured the visiting team that the University would continue to provide the necessary academic and institutional support to ensure the survival and growth of NACOE’s new programmes.

               Earlier in his remarks, the Provost of NACOE, Brigadier General Echibiwe, explained that his visit was to seek the University’s continued support for the College’s academic programmes.

               While saying that his recent redeployment as the Provost of NACOE was his fourth official visit to Ilorin, he emphasised the importance of collaboration with the University of Ilorin in ensuring the success of NACOE’s operations.

Brigadier General Echibiwe disclosed that the College is currently running ten academic programmes and may require the assistance of the University in facilitating and supporting these courses. He expressed confidence that the long-standing relationship between both institutions would pave the way for deeper academic partnerships.

The Provost solicited a renewed commitment to collaboration and mutual support, to set positive tone for the future of academic cooperation between the University of Ilorin and the Nigeria Army College of Education.

The Vice Chancellor was joined to receive the military team by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Moji Taibat Odunola; the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Adisa Fawole; the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research Technology and Innovation), Prof. Muhtar Adeiza Etudaiye; the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla; the University Bursar, Mr Abiodun Lawal; and the Ag Director of Security, Mr Paul Ogidi.
