The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria (MSSN), University of Ilorin Branch, has held a workshop aimed at guiding its members on how to live purposefully in line with Islamic principles without compromising their hereafter.
The workshop, which took place penultimate Saturday (May 31,2025), with the theme:”Finding Balance Through Islamic Principles,” was held at the University Auditorium Basement.
In his presentation, a content creator, Mr Salaudeen Abdul Basit, who spoke on “Winning Without Selling Your Soul”, urged students to pursue success through knowledge, integrity, and dedication, without straying from Islamic values.
“True victory begins when your soul is priceless and not for sale,” Mr Salaudeen said, adding that “getting the best of this world without losing the hereafter should be every Muslim’s priority.”
He reminded the participants of the temporary nature of life, stressing the importance of preparing for the hereafter. He said, “A good Muslim should always be conscious of death, it can come at any time. All souls ultimately belong to Almighty Allah.”
Mr Salaudeen also emphasised that Islam encourages hard work, patience, and reliance on God, debunking any notion that the religion promotes passivity or laziness.
On his part, the founder of Jarus Homes, Mr Suraj Oyewale (Sir Jarus) charged Muslim students to get themselves ready for opportunities ahead and never to hide their identity as Muslims.
“Face your studies, dream big, huzzle to the right part and strive to be expert and trustworthy in your doings for Almighty to bless them for you, “he advised.
Also speaking, Mr Zakariyyah Rasheed, who is a writer, called on Muslim students to learn how to write the right way, which serve as an act of worship.”your pen is a trust, learn to write to beautify the world”, he said.
He reminded the participants that all actions are being recorded by Allah as he urged them to do all things with the fear of Allah .
Also speaking, the Editor- in-Chief of UNILORIN MSSN,Mr Babalola Abdulqayum Luqman, appreciated all the invited guests for honouring the Association’s invitation.
He also urged all MSSN members to be ready to serve whenever they are called upon as he also urged them to have absolute reliance in Allah.
