UNILORIN Holdings extends services to public

The Managing Director of the UNILORIN Holdings Limited, Prof. Bashir A. Raji, has said that the organisation is expanding its services beyond the University community to enable members of the public benefit from it.
Prof. Raji stated this penultimate Thursday (March 12, 2026) in his office in a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin.
The Managing Director explained that UNILORIN Holdings, a business arm of the University, has continued to diversify its operations in order to provide quality services that meet the needs of both the University community and the larger society.
He said that one of the flagship products of the company is UNILORIN Water, which has gained recognition for its high quality and hygienic production process, noting that the water is already being supplied to several hotels and establishments within Kwara State.
According to him, efforts are ongoing to expand the distribution network so that more homes, offices and hospitality businesses can benefit from the product.
Prof. Raji also disclosed that the UNILORIN Guest House now offers logistics and food delivery services, enabling customers to place orders and have meals delivered to their homes or offices at their convenience.
He added that the Guest House, through its catering unit, provides a variety of meals including local delicacies and pastries while also handling event catering services within and outside the University environment.
Speaking on agricultural products, the Professor of Soil Science revealed that UNILORIN Honey, processed at the University’s Apiary, is being carefully treated and packaged to meet high quality standards before being made available to consumers.
He added that the UNILORIN Holdings has also commenced the processing of palm oil from its oil palm plantation, with the product expected to enter the market soon as part of efforts to strengthen local agricultural production.
Prof. Raji further noted that the UNILORIN Researchers’ Lodge, which was initially designed to accommodate visiting scholars, is now accessible to individuals and organisations within and outside the University community.
He said the facility provides a comfortable and serene environment suitable for academic engagements, conferences and short-term accommodation.
The Managing Director also highlighted the growing popularity of the UNILORIN Zoo, which he described as more than a traditional zoological garden.
According to him, the zoo offers a unique recreational experience that includes a children’s playground, professional tour guides and a canopy walkway that provides visitors with an exciting adventure.
Prof. Raji explained that the zoo serves as both a recreational and educational centre where visitors can learn about wildlife, plants and environmental conservation.
He also disclosed that UNILORIN Press remains fully operational, providing high-quality printing and publishing services for books, journals, flyers and other academic or commercial materials.
Prof. Raji, therefore, called on members of the public to take advantage of the numerous services offered by UNILORIN Holdings, assuring that the organisation remains committed to delivering quality, professionalism and innovation in all its operations.
