A call has gone to members of the younger generations, particularly students, to be multidimensional and professional in their pursuits in order for them to successfully navigate the increasingly dynamic work environment.
This charge was made by the Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Idris Alooma) last Tuesday (December 17, 2024) when some students of the Department of Mass Communication, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, visited him in his office.
The Station Manager emphasised the importance of being versatile and well-rounded in today’s fast-paced world.
According to him, “being multidimensional is key to success and relevance in various fields”.
He, therefore, encouraged young people to explore their passions, develop new skills, and be open to learning and growth.
Mr Alooma also urged the students to be adaptable, innovative, and forward-thinking, saying that doing so would increase their chances of success, make meaningful contributions to society, and achieve their full potentials.
The ace broadcaster also advised students to embrace professionalism right from the onset and avoid what he called “churnalism”.
He explained that professionalism entails the prioritisation of the highest standards of journalism while “churnalism” involves the routine reporting of events without thorough investigation, depth or context.
Mr Alooma also implored his guests to embrace today’s technology and prioritise quality and integrity in their works.
