UNILORIN Clinic celebrates retired staff

The University of Ilorin Health Services Unit last Wednesday (December 10, 2025) celebrated four staff members on their retirement from the services of the University. The honourees are Dr N. A. Akintunde, Mrs F. Oniyarabi, Mrs A. Afolayan and Mrs M. Ewurum.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director of the UNILORIN Health Dr Rasheed Adekanye Odunola, lauded the retirees for their contributions to the Clinic, noting that their efforts had created a foundation of excellence that would continue to guide current and future staff.
Dr Odunola said, “Their legacy is not just in the work they did, but in the values of humanity, dedication, and teamwork they instilled in all of us.”
The Director also expressed gratitude to all staff for their commitment and hard work throughout the year.
Also speaking, Mrs Rosemary Olusegun emphasised the importance of acknowledging staff contributions while they are alive.
She noted that the honourees had set high standards of professionalism and service, urging colleagues to emulate their dedication so as to ensure the health and welfare of the university community.
In her remarks, the Head of Environmental Services, Mrs T. F. Ogunremi, praised the retirees for their diligence and exemplary work ethic.
She remarked that if all staff worked with the same commitment as demonstrated by the honourees, workplace stress would be significantly reduced.
Responding on behalf of the honourees, Dr Akintunde thanked the management and staff of the Unit for the recognition, prayers, and kind words.
He commended the staff for maintaining high standards of service and assured everyone that the retirees’ legacy would continue to inspire excellence.
The event was attended by colleagues, relations and friends of the honourees from far and near.
