A distinguished alumnus of the University of Ilorin, Ameen Gegele Hammed, has brought pride to his alma mater by earning a Master of Science degree in Bioresource Engineering with Distinction from McGill University, Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Quebec, Canada.
This was disclosed by the Head, Department of Food Engineering, University of Ilorin, Dr Saheed Mayowa
Sanusi, in a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin last Wednesday (October 15, 2025).
Dr Sanusi explained that Ameen’s recent accomplishment at one of the world’s top universities stands as a testament to his resilience, brilliance, and commitment to sustainable development in the field of Food Engineering.
A 2021 graduate of Food Engineering, University of Ilorin, Ameen has continued to distinguish himself through academic excellence and passion for innovation.
Speaking further, Dr Sanusi described Ameen as a diligent scholar and a forward-thinking engineer whose work reflects the growing global relevance of Nigerian-trained professionals in science and technology.
In his comment, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Joshua Olanrewaju Olaoye, extended heartfelt congratulations to Ameen, commending him for being an inspiration to current students and fellow alumni.
