UNILORIN Alumni Spotlight is on Tosin Adeoti – Class of 2009!Tosin Adeoti is a seasoned programme and project management professional with about fifteen years (15) of cross-sectoral experience spanning higher education, skills development, sustainable livelihoods, educational partnerships, and youth employment. He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Development (with Distinction), and is certified in Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, and Scaled Scrum Master (SSM).
Tosin has led large-scale education and employability programmes supported by international donors, including the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the European Union (EU), and the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) across Sub-saharan Africa. His work has focused on strengthening access to quality education, building youth employability, and deepening partnerships between public and private sector stakeholders across Nigeria.
Prior to joining the British Council, Tosin managed the USADF-LSETF Employability Programme—a $20 million, ten-year initiative aimed at creating sustainable employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for 25,000 young people. He also played a pivotal role in education-focused infrastructure delivery and vocational training across the Niger Delta, and led policy-relevant training programmes that supported over 5,000 youths in transitioning to paid employment.
Tosin is a registered Civil Engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a certified Master Trainer from the Australian Vocational and Technical Education Group (AVTEG), and holds HSE certifications from Prime International Risk and Safety Management (UK).
Passionate about inclusive development and international collaboration, he brings a unique blend of technical, policy, and operational expertise to his current role as Programme Manager, Higher Education – Nigeria, where he supports the delivery of the British Council’s higher education portfolio, including the Study UK campaign, alumni engagement, and institutional partnerships.
He is also a three-time author and advocate for lifelong learning and continues to contribute to initiatives that drive equitable access to education and employment in Africa.
In his spare time, Tosin, an alumnus of the University of Ilorin, spends time writing books and articles, reading a wide range of topics, and speaking/training.
