Members of a University of Ilorin alumni group, UNILORIN Advocates, have congratulated Mr Babajide Kolade-Otitoju on his elevation as Director of News, TVC Communications, and Mr Yinka Fafoluyi (Solace) on his installation as the Bobasẹlù of Oro Kingdom.

In a statement signed by Seun Awogbenle on behalf of the group, Mr Kolade-Otitoju’s elevation was described as a fitting recognition of a distinguished journalism career marked by intellectual depth, professional discipline, and unwavering commitment to public service.

UNILORIN Advocates noted that the appointment further underscores the enduring academic legacy of the University of Ilorin, which the veteran journalist continues to project through ethical reporting, analytical clarity, and responsible public engagement.

The elite group, which was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, in 2024, commended Mr Kolade-Otitoju’s reputation as an analytical and broad-minded journalist whose work goes beyond surface narratives to providing context-driven insights that enhance public understanding.

It also praised his commitment to mentoring younger journalists, describing his influence as formative in shaping a new generation of media professionals who view journalism as a civic responsibility rather than merely an occupation.

UNILORIN Advocates expressed confidence that Kolade-Otitoju’s tenure as TVC Director of News would strengthen editorial standards, deepen public trust, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of journalism in Nigeria.

The group also extended warm congratulations to Mr Yinka Fafoluyi (Solace), Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor of Kwara State, on his installation as the Bobasẹlù of Oro Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II.

It described the installation as a historic honour that reflects confidence in Hon. Fafoluyi’s leadership, character, and commitment to community development.

According to the statement, Hon. Fafoluyi, a reputable alumnus of the University of Ilorin and an active member of UNILORIN Advocates, has consistently demonstrated innovation and strategic insight in the management of new media for public governance.

His work, the group noted, highlights the importance of citizen-focused and technologically responsive communication in modern public administration.

UNILORIN Advocates added that Mr Fafoluyi’s new traditional role reinforces the value of leadership rooted in culture, identity, and service, expressing optimism that his installation as Bobasẹlù would further enhance his contributions to Oro Kingdom, Kwara State, and the nation at large.

The group wished both Mr Kolade-Otitoju and Mr Fafoluyi successful tenures marked by impact, integrity, and sustained service.
