The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has said that the authorities of the University will welcome the participation of every stakeholder in the 50th anniversary of the University.

Prof. Egbewole stated this penultimate Friday (November 14, 2025) while receiving a delegation of the Ilorin Emirate Staff Association (IESA), University of Ilorin, which paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The Vice Chancellor said that the celebration is for everybody, particularly members of the University’s host community, who have been very fraternal and supportive to the University since its establishment.

He explained that the decision of the IESA to key-in to the anniversary programme is not only thoughtful but would make the celebration meaningful and colourful.

Prof. Egbewole used the opportunity of the visit to thank the people of Ilorin for being a wonderful host, saying that it is not always like this in other places.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the IESA, Prof. Ibrahim Kayode Adam, said that the purpose of the visit is to apprise the Vice Chancellor of the desire of the body to play prominent roles during the anniversary.

Prof. Adam, who is also the Director of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Foundation School, said that the IESA was prepared to roll out the drum in the celebration of the University, which has popularised the Ilorin community more than any other Federal Government establishment.

The Chairman assured the Vice Chancellor that IESA would mobilise the people of Ilorin towards effective participation in the anniversary as he assured that the body would make the whole anniversary colourful and memorable.
