Two distinguished academics from the Department of Home Economics and Food Science, University of Ilorin, Prof. Mutiat Adebanke Balogun and Prof. Fausat Lola Kolawole, have been conferred with the Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology (NIFST).
The investiture, which was performed by the President of NIFST, Dr Bola Osinowo, took place during the 49th Annual Conference and General Meeting of the Institute held between October 20 and 24, 2025, at the Peace Hotel, Ilorin.
The two dons were among seven distinguished professionals across Nigeria conferred with the prestigious Fellowship, in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Food Science, research, and professional development.
Their elevation to the Fellowship of NIFST represents a significant recognition of their scholarly achievements and commitment to advancing the frontiers of Food Science and Technology in Nigeria.
In his remarks, the Dean of Agriculture, Prof. Israel Ogunlade, congratulated the new Fellows on the well-deserved honour as he, described it as a testament to their excellence, leadership, and service to humanity.
