Prof. Kamilu Rauf was born in Ilorin, Kwara state and an indigene of Modakeke in Osun State. After his primary education at Ansarul-Deen Primary School, Ile-Ife, he proceeded to The Apostolic Grammer School in Modakeke. Thereafter, he was at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife for his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees respectively. He was awarded the degree of BSc. (Mathematics), from Unilorin, MSc. (Functional Analysis) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science- PGDC from OAU-Ife, and M.Sc. (Complex Analysis) and PhD (Functional Analysis) from University of Ilorin. He became a Member of American Mathematical Society (MAMS) in 2009 and Associate Fellow of Institute for Operations Research of Nigeria (INFORN) in 2012.

Prof. Rauf started his carrier as an Assistance Lecturer, with Federal College of Education Osiele Abeokuta, Nigeria in 1994 as a Youth Corper. He later joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria as a Graduate Assistance in 1996, he joined University of Ilorin 2001 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose through the rank to being Professor 2017, he has over twenty-five years of teaching experience at University level. Prof. Rauf has supervised many postgraduate students at both Masters and PhD levels and at present has graduated thirty-two (32) MSc., twelve (12) PhD students and some (2 MSc. and 7 PhD) are still under his tutelage including a co-supervise student at Islamia University in Pakistan. He has published over one hundred and fifty (150) articles in local, national and international peer reviewed journals.

In terms of administrative responsibilities, Prof. Rauf has held a number of academic and administrative positions within and outside the ivory tower. Prof. Rauf has served Science Association of Nigeria (SAN) in various capacities, either as 1st Assistant Secretary, 2016, Acting Secretary 2017, the Secretary for the local organizing committee on Science Association of Nigeria (SAN) Conference tagged ILORIN 2014 and Editor-in-Chief, Bulletin of Science Association of Nigeria (BSAN), 2018-date, to mention but a few.

As a mark of recognition of his academic excellence, Prof. Rauf has served as external examiner to several Universities in Nigeria at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He was also one time the Resource Person, Foundation Post-graduate Course in Real Analysis, a scientific activity organized by National Mathematical Centre (NMC), Abuja in 2013.

Prof. Rauf is a recipient of several Honors and Awards among which are; African Ambassador of Mathematics with International Short Visit Scheme to United Kingdom and lectured at the University of Nottingham, Leeds, and York in 2010 under the auspices of London Mathematical Society. India INSA-JRD TATA Academic Research/Visiting Scientist Fellowship Award in 2009 under the auspices of INSA-JRD TATA. Prof. Rauf has being acknowledged by a number of associations/communities, he has had contact with among which are the Pakistan Mathematical Society, Nigeria Science Students Association, and Kwara State Mathematical Association of Nigeria for his contribution to the Association. He has also been recognized by a number of other professional bodies such as Associate Fellow of the Institute of Operation Research.

Prof. Rauf is a Member of several academic and professional bodies such as; Nigerian Mathematical Society, Mathematical Association of Nigeria, Institute of Operation Research of Nigeria, Nigerian Mathematical Physics, London Mathematical Society and American Mathematical Society. He is married and blessed with children.

Research interest: Hardy-type integral inequalities, fixed point theory, and Univelence function theory.
