“Dr Ayo Babalola is a senior lecturer in the department of Surveying and Geoinformatics university of ilorin, Kwara state. He served as the Ag. Dean of the faculty of Environmental sciences of the same University from 2014-2016, and as the pioneer head of department of Surveying and geoinformatics from 2013-2014 as well as from 2017-2020. He is also a visiting lecturer at the federal university of technology Akure, ondo state.
Babalola has served in various committees of university some of which are: university Senate, academic planning and curriculum committee, library and publication, committee of provost and Deans, internal accreditation committee, Quality assurance, faculty rep.to the center for international studies, and post graduate studies. Chairman faculty board of examiners, subject editor FES spetrum journal. Babalola received bachelor and Masters degrees in surveying and geoinformatics from Federal university of technology Yola now Modibbo Adama university of technology Yola. And his PhD in remote sensing from the universiti teknologi Malaysia in 2011. He was a pioneer staff of the department of Surveying and geoinformatics federal polytechnic Damaturu., Yobe state, where he rose to the position of the head of department as well as the director of the school of environmental studies. His research interest are: Geospatial information systems. Remote sensing, Environmental issues, surveying and geoinformatics. His recent research activities include: Decision making, Geo-visualization, distribution of Co2, monitoring draughts using SPI.
In his long career in the polytechnic and University, Dr Babalola has made significant contributions to teaching, research and community service. Dr Babalola is married with children.”
