About the Dean of Engineering & Technology

Professor Lasode is the current Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria and occupies a Professorial Chair in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He had his Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin with specialization in Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow. He is also registered with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He has taught several courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has conducted research and published papers in reputable outlets (citation = 378, h-index = 12, i10-index = 14) in the areas of Convective Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics and Energy (Solar and Biomass energy). He is a member of Advance Electrical Power Engineering and Green Energy Research Group (AEPEGERG), Hydro-Power Development Research Group (HPDRG) and Sustainable Energy Research Group (SERG) of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, university of Ilorin, Ilorin. He has a patent on “Hybrid Fuel Briquette from Coal Fines and Torrefied Woody Biomass”.
His current research interest includes: Heat transfer in rotating and non-rotating systems; thermo-phoresis of dust particles; torrefaction and pyrolytic studies with upgrading of forestry and agricultural wastes to energy products; and energetic and exergetic studies of thermal systems.
He has over 30 years of teaching and research experience as a faculty member at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, Ilorin. He was a Visiting Professor at The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Jose Edwado Dos Santos Campus, Ongwediva, and School of Military Science, Windhoek Campus, University of Namibia, Namibia.
He has attended and presented papers at several national and international conferences. He has several collaborations with researchers at home and abroad.
