Profile of the Head of Department
Professor Arimiyau Akanji SANUSI is the current Head, Department of Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education, Faculty of Education. He was born on the 6th May, 1969 in Igboho, Orelope Local Government Area of Oyo State. He attended Ansar-Ud-Deen Primary School, Igboho from 1974- 1978, Army Children Primary School, Maiduguri, 1978- 1980; Army Children (Day) Secondary School, Maiduguri, 1981- 1983; Federal Government College, Maiduguri, 1983- 1985. He obtained a Diploma in Physical and Health Education in 1988 from the University of Maiduguri, first degree in Physical and Health Education in 1992 from the University of Maiduguri, Master degree in Health Education in 1997at the University of Ibadan and had his Doctoral degree in Public Health Education in 2002 also at the University of Ibadan.
Professor Arimiyau Akanji Sanusi did his National Youth Service Corp in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State in the State Sports Council and joined the services of the University of Maiduguri as a graduate assistant in 1994 where he rose to become a Professor in 2011. In 2016, Professor Arimiyau Akanji Sanusi transferred his service to University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. He is a member of many associations and societies. He is a fellow of the Nigerian School Health Association.
