The Probitas Multipurpose Cooperative Society of the University of Ilorin has held its 26th Ordinary General Meeting (OGM). The event, which took place last Thursday (October 2, 2025) at the NASU Secretariat, brought members of the Society together to review progress, strengthen accountability, and discuss strategies for the society’s growth.
In his address, the Chairman of the society, Mr Toyin Muhammed Alabi, expressed gratitude to God as he congratulated members for witnessing another OGM.
He noted that the cooperative society had recorded significant progress, citing the society’s functioning hostels and other investments that are yielding positive returns.
Mr Alabi urged members to take the society’s meetings seriously, pledging to remain accountable in his leadership.
He also acknowledged the University’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, for commissioning the society’s 20-unit shopping complex in February 2023, which he revealed, generated ₦2.4 million in 2024.
In her remarks, the Kwara State Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Mrs Damilola Yusuf, encouraged members to safeguard and monitor their investments to avoid financial losses.
She congratulated them for being part of what she described as a “thriving cooperative society” and urged them to continue to make wise investment decisions.
Also speaking, the society’s secretary, Mr S. A. Afolabi, appreciated the Hon. Commissioner for honouring the society’s invitation and prayed for the continued commitment and unity of members.
The highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of the Electoral Committee ahead of the 2026 elections of new executive members.
The committee is chaired by Mr Kabiru O. Amali, with Dr Hafsat Alabi , as Secretary. Other members are Mr Tajudeen Sulyman, Mr Babalola D.A and Mr Ilesanmi Alowolodu.
