Some of the parents who accompanied their children, wards and relations to the just concluded 40th Convocation Ceremonies of the University of Ilorin, which held between last Wednesday, October 22 and Thursday, October 23, 2025, have commended the management of the University for perfectly organising the ceremonies
The parents, who spoke to UNILORIN Bulletin on the sidelines of the ceremonies, said that the way the events went clearly confirmed the status of the University as truly “Better by far”.
Mr James Folorunsho Atoyebi said that the University deserves to be commended for deploying adequate human and material resources for the event.
Mr Atoyebi, who is a Lagos-based entrepreneur, said that the way the ceremonies held was worthy of being emulated and replicated by other institutions of higher learning.
He added that he witnessed the convocation ceremonies with great pleasure, saying that he was marveled with the traffic control and security management put in place on each day of the events.
Mrs Sikirat Maiyaki-Assayouti said that she was extremely impressed with the way the ceremony went without any problem whatsoever.
Mrs Maiyaki-Assayouti, who is a senior tutor, said that she had attended quite a number of convocation ceremonies within and beyond Kwara State over the years, pointing out that what she experienced at the University of Ilorin was quite encouraging and stimulating.
To Mrs Hadiza Nagode-Adeyi, the style adopted to ensure crowd control during the ceremonies was quite fantastic. She said that despite the huge number of vehicles that thronged the University campus, traffic was not too hectic as she had feared.
Mrs Nagode-Adeyi, who retired from the defunct Power Holding Company of Nigeria(PHCN), encouraged the University to maintain this style to encourage more of its friends to attend future programmes by the institution.
Mr Ismail Oladimeji, who is a staff of the Quality Assurance Bureau, Kwara State Ministry of Education and an alumnus of the University, also praised his alma mater for delivering great convocation ceremonies.
He said that he was impressed that despite the huge number of graduands the programme was “hitch free and comforting”.
Mr Oladimeji, who came all the way from Adanla in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, urged the authorities of the University to devise a method by which all the award-winning graduands would be seated inside the Auditorium.
He said that he was not delighted that some of the winners of prizes were not in the Auditorium as at the time their names were called during the ceremony.
Mrs Grace Omolayo Kayode also expressed joy with the quality of most of the programmes she attended.
Mrs Kayode who came from Ekiti State, said that with the quality service delivery she experienced during the convocation ceremonies, she would continue to be proud of the University.
