Oyetola to deliver UNILORIN Advancement Centre’s maiden personality lecture Thursday

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, will on Thursday, October 16, 2025, deliver the maiden Personality Lecture organised by the Centre for Advancement, University of Ilorin.

A statement signed by the Director of the Centre, Prof. Waheed Babatunde Yahya, said that the event,  themed “Nexus Between Blue Economy and Higher Education for Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” will hold at the University Auditorium beginning at 10:00a.m.

Prof. Yahya, who is the Chairman of the Alumni Day Sub committee of the University of Ilorin’s Golden Jubilee Planning Committee said that the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, will be the Special Guest of Honour while the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, will be the Royal Father as the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, will be the Chief Host.

The statement explained that Prof. Yahya will be the Host while the Director , Centre for Management and Leadership, ,Ilorin, Dr Adeola Aminat Odebode, will be the Co-Host.

While saying that other dignitaries from far and near are also expected to attend the event, the statement added that the lecture promises to be an opportunity for participants to gain fresh insights into the blue economy and how it can be used to transform the nation’s economy.

Members of the University community and the general public are, therefore, invited to attend punctually.
