The Sub-Dean of Student Affairs (Main Campus), University of Ilorin, Dr Rasheed Onagun, has advised students of the University to make effective use of the ongoing mid-session break to rest in order for them to be fully energised for the upcoming rain semester of the ongoing academic session.

Dr Onagun gave this advice last Tuesday (February 24, 2026) in his office in a chat with UNILORIN Bulletin.

He said that holidays are designed for people to relax and recoup strength for future tasks, saying that they needed to take proper rest.

Dr Onagun, who teaches at the Department of History and International Studies, however, enjoined them not to neglect their studies while on holiday.

He encouraged the students to prepare for the next semester by familiarising themselves with the courses they would be taught, saying that once they read ahead of the class  subject-matters of those courses would not be strange to them.

Dr Onagun assured the students that the University management would ensure that everything worth doing is done for them to enjoy their sojourn on campus.

He said that many of the facilities, particularly in school-owned hostels, are currently being given facelift in preparation for the students’ return to the campus.

Dr Onagun wished all the Unilorites a very peaceful and rewarding holiday and safe return back to the campus at the end of the break.
