Olaoye elected into Academy of Engineering

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, Prof. Joshua Olanrewaju Olaoye, has been elected into the Nigerian Academy of Engineering. The Academy is the apex Think Tank of leading professionals from all branches of Engineering in Nigeria and it provides leadership in promoting Science, Technology and Innovation in Nigeria and also engages in comprehensive studies on a variety of subjects to advice government in making the right policies.
Prof. Olaoye was elected into the Academy at the body’s Council Meeting held on February 24, 2026 and he would be inducted as a member on Thursday June 25,2026 in Lagos.
Meanwhile, the management of the University has congratulated Prof. Olaoye on the Fellowship election.
In a letter sent to him by the Registrar, Mr Alfanla, the management said, ‘‘This remarkable feat reflects your unwavering commitment to academic excellence, exemplary leadership, and professionalism. It stands as a distinguished testament not only to you but also to the University of Ilorin, recognising your dedication to best practices and the advancement of professional engineering.’
