
UNILORIN ready to collaborate with Tunisian govt, varsities – Egbewole

A Deputy Bursar at the University of Ilorin, Mr Abdul Ganiyu Olaniyan, has been appointed as the Bursar of the National Institute for Advanced Legal Studies(NIALS).
A statement signed by the Institute Secretary, Mr Tiamiyu Adamola Sharafadeen, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin, said that the appointment of Mr Olaniyan, which was made along with those of two other Principal Officers, was confirmed and ratified by the Governing Council of the Institute under the Chairmanship of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun,GCON, at its extraordinary meeting held last Friday(May 9, 2025).
Mr Olaniyan, who joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 2009 as a Senior Accountant, was promoted to the rank of Deputy Bursar in October, 2019.
The new NIALS’s Bursar is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). In addition to his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Mr Olaniyan also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance as well as an exciting 22 years of cognate experience.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the appointment of Mr Olaniyan as NIALS’ Bursar as he described it as another plus for the nation’s most sought-after University.
Prof. Egbewole, in a statement signed by the University’s Spokesperson, Mr Kunle Akogun, urged Mr Olaniyan to take the new job with his characteristic humility and crave for excellence.
The Vice Chancellor wished Mr Olaniyan a very successful tenure.
