A former Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Emmanuel Dada Obafemi, has been appointed the pioneer Registrar of the newly-licensed Abdulrasaq Abubakar Toyin University (AATU), Ganmo, Kwara State.

The appointment of Mr Obafemi was contained in a statement issued by the founder of the University, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Abubakar Toyin, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin last weekend.

Mr Obafemi, a renowned University administrator, who served as the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, University of Ilorin between 2013 and 2018, would bring to bear on the new University his remarkable erudition and profound experience in University administration.

Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN,  welcomed the appointment of Mr Obafemi as the pioneer Registrar of the new private University.

In a statement issued by the University’s Spokesperson, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the appointment of Mr Obafemi as a very thoughtful and strategic decision that would culminate in the laying of a strong foundation for the new University.

Prof. Egbewole described Mr Obafemi as an outstanding ambassador of the University of Ilorin, saying that he was sure that the new University would enjoy Mr Obafemi’s uncommon commitment to duties and vast experience.

The Vice Chancellor wished Mr Obafemi a very successful tenure.
