The Executive Director of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanization (NCAM), Ilorin, Dr Abdulgafar Rasheed Kamal, has praised the University of Ilorin for its immense impact on his professional journey.
Speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin last Tuesday (November 18,2025), Dr Kamal described UNILORIN as “better by far,” noting that the University laid the solid foundation for his academic and engineering career, having earned both his first and second degrees there before proceeding to the University of Ibadan for his third degree.
The Executive Director, whose grandfather, Shaykh Muhammad Kamaldeen Al-Adabiyy, was honoured by the University with an honorary doctorate degree in 1998, also reaffirmed the long-standing collaboration between NCAM and the University of Ilorin, stating that students from Mechanical, Electrical, and Agricultural Engineering Departments regularly undertake industrial training and final-year projects at the Centre.
According to him, the practical exposure they receive at NCAM complements their academic learning and strengthens their professional development.
