The newly appointed State Officer of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) in Kwara State, Mrs Rosemary Obaje, has commended UNILORIN FM for its professionalism and consistent adherence to the National Broadcasting Code.
The NBC top official stated this when the UNILORIN FM Station Manager, Mr Idris Alooma, paid her a courtesy visit in her office last Wednesday (9, April, 2025), saying that she believes that if all broadcasting stations could emulate this standard, the society would be the better for it.
Mrs Obaje expressed her willingness to collaborate with stakeholders in the broadcasting industry to promote best global practices and move the state and the nation forward .She called on all broadcasters in the state to uphold the ethics of broadcasting.
The NBC State Officer emphasised that her organization is not focused on witch-hunting any station but rather on ensuring that broadcasting standards are upheld. She pledged to continue doing what is right and encouraged stakeholders to work together to achieve this goal.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Alooma congratulated Mrs Obaje on her deployment to Kwara State, pledging the full cooperation of UNILORIN FM to her in the discharge of her duties.
Mr Alooma appreciated the NBC’s efforts in protecting the nation and promoting professionalism in the broadcasting industry. He highlighted the importance of peace and security, citing the example of the 1994 Rwandan genocide, which was exacerbated by irresponsible broadcasting.
Mr Alooma reiterated UNILORIN FM’s commitment to upholding professionalism and prayed for Mrs Obaje’s success in her new role.
