The Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has described the re-election of a former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin, Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, as a Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in her by members of the Institute.
The Governor’s observation was conveyed in a statement dated May 25, 2025 and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rafiu Ajakaye, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin. Mallam AbdulRazaq said that the re-election of Prof. Abdulbaqi gladdened his heart.
Prof. Abdulbaqi was re-elected at the recent NIPR Annual General Meeting and Conference in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital. The NIPR Council President, Dr Ike Neliaku, was also reelected alongside other council members, in what was considered a vote of confidence in their leadership.
