The Director, Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies (CPSS), University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Ibrahim Jawondo; and Prof. Joshua Olaoye of the Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering, have been elected Deans of the Faculties of Arts and Engineering and Technology, respectively.
While Prof. Jawondo, who teaches in the Department of History and International Studies was elected last Tuesday (July 9, 2025), the election of Prof. Olaoye took place last Thursday (July 10, 2025) at their respective Faculties.
The two elections, described as free, fair, credible and democratic by participants and observers, were witnessed by members of the Faculty Boards, academic staff, senior non-teaching staff and observers from other Faculties.
In separate interviews with UNILORIN Bulletin, the two Deans-elect, who will assume duties on August 1, 2025, thanked their colleagues for finding them worthy of leading their respective Faculties.
The two dons, who have previously held key leadership positions within and outside the University, promised to provide exemplary leadership and also take the two Faculties to higher heights.
