Internationalisation drive: Egbewole visits Turkey

In furtherance to his vision of making the University of Ilorin more visible at the global level, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, last Wednesday (December 10, 2025) led a team of some Principal Officers and members of the Governing Council of the University on a Four-Day visit to Turkey.
The delegation visited the D-8 Secretariat in Istanbul where it held fruitful talks with the Ilorin-born Secretary-General of the Organisation, Ambassador Isiaka Abdulqadir Imam, and his team.
The Vice Chancellor also led the delegation on visits to a number of Turkish universities and other relevant places on a mission aimed at promoting the internationalisation drive of the University and fraternity with its peers in the European country.
The delegation was well-received in each of the places visited as the visit also afforded the Vice Chancellor and his team the privilege of enlightening members of the international community on the achievements and prospects of the University
Members of the delegation included the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Adisa Fawole; the Bursar, Mr Abiodun Lawal and two members of the University Governing Council, Mrs Racheal Alabi and Mr Akeem Babatunde Idowu.
