An Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioural Sciences, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Dr Roy J. E. Ndom, has passed on. He died on February 15, 2025 and was buried in his home town, Katchuan Irruan, Cross River State last Friday (March 28, 2025).
In a tribute to the late academic, the Head of the Department of Behavioural Sciences, Prof. Alfred Makanjuola, described the death of Dr Roy J. E. Ndom as a great loss, which would be greatly felt in the Department, the Faculty and the University Community at large.
Prof. Makanjuola said, “I salute the departure of a great academic, senior colleague, colleague, and a perfect gentleman.
“In spite of all, you kept it simple. Maybe you remembered your teachings on coping strategies in the presence of difficulties.”
Describing the late Dr Ndom as “a friend of students”, Prof. Makanjuola said that the late don “knew many of the students by their first names and Matric numbers.”
He added that the late “Dr Ndom was a man who contributed immensely to the success of students in their pursuit of academic careers.”
Prof. Makanjuola stated further that Dr Ndom would be remembered for his good legacy and contributions to the University.”
The Head of Department pointed out that as a former Secretary of the Faculty Evaluation Committee, the late Dr Ndom “was ever willing to offer psychological support to the students.”
